Southwestern Son: The Lithographs of Peter Hurd Lecture

Gain insight as associate curator Amanda C. Burdan discusses artist Peter Hurd’s explorations in the late eighteenth-century printmaking technique of lithography. Much less well-known than his paintings, Hurd’s prints reflect a brief period of his life’s work in the 1930s, when he turned to lithography to support his young family during the Depression. The Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill (DHCI) is seeking community volunteers to assist residents during upcoming holidays at the facility’s grounds in Smyrna. Groups and organizations are encouraged to volunteer to assist residents with activities and friendly visiting during Good Friday (March 30), Easter (April 1), Memorial Day (May 28) and the Fourth of July.
