The Jonas Brothers Reveal How They Really Feel About Disney to Paper Magazine

The Jonas Brothers are on the cover of Paper Magazine, where they discuss their infamous breakup, their years resenting Disney and their subsequent reunion.

The photos are a nod to nostalgic mall photos of the past with the guys taking a comedic approach to the spread, posing in old sweaters and with ferrets.

The group talked about how being Disney stars was extremely stifling while they were coming of age, as well as what exactly eventually led to their 2013 split.

"We were at a standstill with our TV show and the movies," Joe Jonas said. "We were young adults, having to pretend like we're young teenagers."

Worse, the guys wanted to grow as musicians but said they lost their way under the pressure.

"We lost touch with what we wanted to say," Nick reasons. "We understood that our level of success and fame had reached a point, where our musicianship and writing and performing abilities needed time to grow and catch up to it."

But the hard times also led to their reunion, which has been extremely successful thus far.

"It really took the last six years to figure out who we were as people and what kind of music we wanted to make," Nick said.

Now, the guys are just excited about the next chapter.

According to Nick, they hope to "make new statements and push ourselves to create who we are, every day," even if that means their new identity "might be tougher to accept," for their fans.

The group is poised to reveal far more secrets about what went down over the last six years when their documentary, Chasing Happinesspremieres on Amazon Prime on June 4.
