Nathan’s Story Inc., with President and Founder, Kim Silpeth, Nathan’s mom Download

00:29 Download December 2nd, 2019

Nathan’s Story is a local charity looking to fulfill Nathans dream of making a difference for children with cancer.  His mom, Kim Silpeth, discussed Nathan’s journey from diagnosis to his death eight years later at age sixteen, his courage through treatment and his decision to help other kids facing the disease.   Kim recalled how he told her, it all wasn’t about him, it was the other kids who could be helped; they could tell people that kids do get cancer and do things to help them, fro finding comfortable beds in the cancer/hematology wards to sending ‘Smile Boxes’ of personalized gifts to kids undergoing treatment.  Nathan began his own fundraising and made the first campaign suggestion, Maryland license plates.

There will be a Nathan’s Story fundraiser – hours of family fun at Main Event – on February 16th.  Learn more about how you can get tickets, send a Smile Box, help with fundraising or make a donation at nathansstory.com
